Ralston, Nebraska: 1925. Grandma Hayes, at 92, attributes her long life and good health to the five pipefuls of tobacco she smokes every day. She declares herself a modern flapper, with the exception of the age and dress, but try as she will. she cannot adopt herself to the modes of dress of the twentieth century maidens.
