EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures Lord North, the 2nd Earl of Guilford, who served as Prime Minister of Great Britain during the late 18th century. The image showcases a distinguished gentleman with a somber expression on his face, reflecting the tumultuous period he lived in. Lord North assumed office in 1770 but faced significant challenges during his tenure, including the American Revolutionary War. The photograph is believed to have been taken around 1881 and was featured in "Old and New London: A Narrative of Its History, Its People, and Its Places".
