The sports pavilion complex was designed by Gerald Beech, in association with Geoffrey Holland. It was built in 1962 and cost £ 101, 000. The complex, which includes changing room block, clubhouse and promenade, is Listed Grade II and won a Class One Award from the Civic Trust in 1963
