This stunning portrait captures the regal beauty and grace of Infanta Maria Anna of Austria, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, painted by the renowned Spanish artist Diego Velázquez in 1660. Born in 1634 as the eldest daughter of the Spanish king Philip IV and his fourth wife, Infanta Maria Anna was destined for a grand marriage to secure the Habsburg dynasty's interests in Central Europe. At the age of 15, she was married to the 23-year-old Leopold I, the future Holy Roman Emperor and King of Hungary and Bohemia.
