This handcoloured copperplate drawing and engraving, created by Andrea Bernieri for Giulio Ferrario's 'Ancient and Modern Costumes of all the Peoples of the World' published in Florence, Italy, in 1844, offers a fascinating glimpse into the grandeur and intricacy of the Burmese court during the early 19th century.
