The Lincoln B Mk. 2 is a British four-engine heavy bomber that first flew in 1945, serving with the Royal Air Force (RAF) until the late 1950s. After its military service, this particular aircraft, originally RF342, passed through various hands. It was first registered as G-29-1 at Luton Airport, where it belonged to D. Napier & Sons Ltd. In November 1962, it moved to Cranfield College of Aeronautics and was given the registration G-36-3. Three years later, in May 1967, it found its new home at Southend Airport, where it was once again registered as G-APRJ. The Lincoln B Mk. 2, with its distinctive shape and impressive size, remains an iconic piece of aviation history. This photograph offers a unique glimpse into the past, capturing the essence of a bygone era in aviation.
