Soyuz Soviet rocket. Soyuz was an expendable carrier rocket that was used by the Soviet Union to launch spacecraft as part of the Soyuz programme. It was initially used on unmanned test flights, but then launched the first 19 manned launches of the program. Soyuz first flew on 28th November 1966 and its last flight was on 24th May 1975
