Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov (born Skryabin, 1890-1986), Soviet political leader. He was born at Sovetsk in Kirov Oblast and went to school at Kazan. He joined the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1906 and gravitated toward Lenins Bolshevik faction. He became a professional revolutionary, being deeply involved in communist politics and was a protege of Stalin. He was denounced by Khrushchev and effectively erased from Soviet history in 1962. By the 70s, under Brezhnev, he started a period of rehabilitation which was only complete by his death during the time of Gorbachev
