In the foreground stands the majestic Cardiff pilot cutter No12 Baratanach, proudly displaying her newly built glory. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident in every inch of this magnificent vessel. As we gaze into the background, our eyes are drawn to two topsail schooners named Drake and John Carnall, gracefully sailing through the calm waters. S. 619, adding an element of livelihood and industry to this coastal landscape. Its presence reminds us of the importance of fishing communities in sustaining local economies. The photographer behind this remarkable image is Edward Ashton, who skillfully captures not only these impressive ships but also showcases the hardworking men who played vital roles in shipbuilding along Cornwall's coast.
