Her first marriage was to Charles Spencer, the third Earl of Sunderland, a powerful and influential figure in English politics during the early 18th century. Their union produced several children, including the future Earl of Sunderland, Charles Spencer, and Lady Anne Spencer. Following Earl Sunderland's death in 1722, Judith married Sir Robert Sutton, who later became Baronet of Dudley. This second marriage brought her into the Sutton family, which also had significant political and social standing. The portrait captures Judith's refined beauty and sophistication.
