The Whip is a melodrama by Henry Hamilton and Cecil Raleigh. The plays original production had intricate scenery and spectacular stage effects, including a horse race and a train crash.The stables at the horse show. The fractious horse is ridden by Joe Kelly, a bookmaker, who has drunk too much (Act III scene 1). For George Dances Company, touring to Opera House, Cheltenham, 19th February 1912. Date: 1912
