The Sex Pistols. Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious. 10th March 1977. London. There they are, back again - the group you love to hate! After their outrageous TV performance and being "Fired" by EMI Records, The Sex Pistols are making a triumphant return with a new worldwide recording deal with A&M Records. Their first A&M single, "God Save The Queen" is set to be released at the end of this month, but don't expect any advance copies or lyrics from the company. Today, The Sex Pistols had a mod contract signing outside Buckingham Palace followed by an eventful press conference. Although the press conference was incredibly boring for most attendees, it did have its moments of excitement when the group attempted to put a bottle of Scotch over hard-working photographers. Always unpredictable! This iconic photograph captures Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious in all their punk rock glory on that historic day in London. It's a snapshot frozen in time from an era defined by rebellion and raw energy. Bill Rowntree's lens immortalizes these legendary figures who pushed boundaries and challenged societal norms through their music. This print serves as a reminder of The Sex Pistols' indelible mark on pop culture during the 1970s. A true collector's item for fans of punk rock history.
