Poster produced for British Railways showing men maintaining locomotives at the Doncaster works, Yorkshire. Two workers are painting the Sir Ronald Matthews locomotive while others are replacing the name plate on the Owen Tudor locomotive. To prepare for this painting the artist was invited to the Doncaster works where he made preparatory sketches of the Sir Reginald Mathews locomotive. Artwork by Terence Cuneo, son of the artists Cyrus and Nell Cuneo. He studied at the Chelsea and Slade Art Schools and in addition to a long career designing railway posters, he also painted portraits (including royal portraits) and ceremonial and military subjects
