Airship hangars, RAF Cardington, Bedfordshire. No.1 shed was built in 1915 by Short Brothers to build two airships for the navy. After the first world war the site became the Royal Airship Works and No. 1 shed was extended and enlarged in preparation for the R101 project. No. 2 shed was brought from Norfolk and re-erected here in 1930. The sheds were later used for constructing barrage balloons
