Restormel Castle, Lanlivery Parish, Cornwall. September 1989
A major battle took place near Lostwithiel during the Civil War, reflected during the Pageant of History of Lostwithiel 1189 to 1989. The battle scenes were re-enacted by the Sealed Knot Society, a group who perform mock battles at historic sites. Over 2, 500 people watched the pageant held in the grounds of Restormel Castle. 144 of the towns residents took part in the plays, which commemorated 800 years of the town being granted a Charter.
